Our Beginning

Hey there! My name is Kayleigh and I am the health coach at Home Studio Wellness. I also founded the company. I started health coaching in the summer of 2020 when many of us were feeling anxious and stressed due to the pandemic and quarantine. But my journey with wellness actually started much sooner.

When I was studying Youth Theatre and working toward my Bachelor of Art, I had a full-health breakdown. My mental health had been so horrible that my physical health followed suit and collapsed. I struggled to do even the simplest things to take care of myself.

At 21 years old, I realized that if I wanted to enjoy life, I needed to prioritize my wellness above all else. So, I made some big changes. I ended an unhealthy relationship, quit my job, and dropped classes. I started therapy, psychiatry, and even joined a trauma recovery support group.

I powered through the daunting task of healing from my past. Actually, I still find myself engaging with this process 5 years later. What I’ve learned is that healing never ends but it is crucial for it to begin.

After I graduated and became a full time Teaching Artist, I found myself being sensitive to the wellness needs of my students.

I worked with kids of all ages and realized that all of my students needed me to be emotionally grounded, mentally stable, and physically predictable. Unfortunately, I noticed many of my peers and mentors were lacking in sound health and wellness.

As the pandemic got closer, this issue became the target of my focus. I noticed that many adults were reacting to stressful situations in triggered states, which led them to be unintentionally cruel to children. This really upset me and I felt an urgency to do something about it. This ended up being what inspired me to share what I have learned from my own healing journey.

During quarantine, I enrolled in a health coaching certification program and started coaching online as soon as I received my certificate.

Within a year, I was working in a chiropractic clinic alongside doctors and other professionals in the natural health field. I dedicated myself to my clients and to studying and studying and studying . . .

After getting engaged, my practice had to move online again because my now-husband is Turkish and I moved to Ankara, Turkey. My company is now growing, and Aslı has joined me as my administrative assistant. She does more than just administrative work, though – she also translates for me (since my Turkish is not yet fluent) and manages our social media.

Together, Aslı and I are excited to build a wellness community that serves a diverse platform of people seeking to heal. I believe that healing is a gift and an essential right that everyone can and should experience. Whether you're holding onto a painful past or simply lack patience, there's something within you that can be healed. From my own experience, I can confidently say that applying intentional wellness to your daily living will improve your quality of life.
